According to others -- A diver has laid some lines just outside the bay into Lake Merwin. These lines may go deep into the lake.

The shallow part of Speelyia Bay may be a good skills training site or quick freshwater dive close to Portland/Vancouver.

The line is still there and actually looked in better shape since last time I was there.
It has been repaired in many places where it was broken last time.

Seemed to be a lot more fresh water clams and sculpins out and about.

The line has been broken in a few spots.

From the entry to the right of the boat dock -- Way at the end of the parking lot.
Head straight out - in about 25 feet you will find a large mound
Turn straight to your right and stay at 20-25
You should come across the line at some point.

Future plans are to run a new line starting from this mound.

Enter the water past the boat ramp.

Get down about 15-20 feet and head parallel to the shore.

You will come to a huge old stump -- 6 to 8 feet diameter.

Continue past it and you "should" run into the line.
People say the line is attached to the stump but we couldn't find it.

Be aware of your gas supply -- This line is rumored to be very long.

Somewhat interesting structures and stumps/trees.
Fresh water sculpins, trout, Crawdads.
